Crafting scents:

My approach

Welcome to the heart of my perfume portfolio, where my perfumes are born. Discover my creative process that is deeply personal, poetically driven and designed to conceive perfume unlike any other.

Where exactly do these ideas come from?

The first sniff of my perfumes come from my worldly surroundings - art, music, people, the night sky, a cup of black coffee, and the list goes on. For example, Stardust We Are was born from the idea of the impermanence of life on Earth, and I made it my mission to bottle it.

From there, I let my imagination run wild. I think about how I could improve the moment through scent, working harmonically as if composing a piece of music.

Where poetry meets perfumery

Before I mix any materials, I must feel the perfume rather than smell it. Many concepts of mine have not made the cut simply because I do not feel a personal connection to them. For a few perfumes, I have created poems to allow me to feel the perfume before I create it physically. This poetry sparks my creative process.

Uncommon artistry

My creative process is unique. I take one simple idea - an aspect from life - and I build on it. Rot is based on melancholy. The initial idea was a cup of hot black coffee before dawn, so I sourced three different coffee natural materials and made these the central components of the perfume. From there, I considered how other notes, and therefore materials, might tie in to the perfume. To imitate the scent of a bed not slept in, I simply used cashmeran and coumarin. I also wanted to evoke the scent of memories from a better time. I used mint, citrus and white floral materials for this to play a subtle part that would disappear quite quickly to capture the fleeting aspect of sweet memories.
